Rookery helps site owners and SEO teams crawl websites, review technical SEO issues, connect marketing data sources, and prepare fixes. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We collect account information such as your name, email address, login method, and subscription status. We also collect website project information you provide, including site URLs, crawl settings, crawl results, issue data, reports, approved fixes, and connector status.

If you connect an AI assistant through Rookery's MCP connector, we collect the authorization and connector information needed to establish that connection, such as the requesting client, approved scopes, token metadata, and requested tool operations. Actions requested through the connector can create the same crawl, draft, task, deploy-proposal, report, and export records that the corresponding action creates inside Rookery.

If you connect third-party services, we collect the data needed to provide that integration. For Google Search Console, this can include verified properties, queries, pages, clicks, impressions, positions, and related Search Console metrics. We store access tokens securely so the integration can continue to sync until you disconnect it.

How We Use Information

We use your information to operate Rookery, run crawls, generate audit views, prepare recommendations, sync authorized third-party data, provide support, process payments, prevent abuse, and improve product quality.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use connected Google user data for advertising. Google data is used only to provide and improve user-facing Rookery features you request.

AI Assistants and the MCP Connector

When you authorize an AI assistant, Rookery returns only data available to your Rookery account and only through the approved connector scopes. This may include sites, audit summaries, page evidence, issues, links, reports, crawl status, tasks, drafts, and export links. It does not include another customer's data or your payment card details.

The assistant provider may process the information it retrieves according to the settings and privacy terms for your account with that provider. Rookery does not control how an independently selected assistant provider handles data after you authorize and send it through the connector. Requested AI drafts and reports may also be processed by Rookery's configured AI model providers to produce the feature you requested.

The connector can start crawls and create drafts, tasks, reports, exports, and temporary deploy proposals when you request them. It cannot approve or execute a live-site deploy; that approval must happen inside Rookery.

Google User Data

When you authorize Google Search Console access, Rookery requests read-only access for Search Console data. Rookery uses this data to show search performance context inside your audits and to help prioritize SEO recommendations.

Rookery's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Service Providers

We use service providers to host the application, store data, process payments, send email, provide authentication, and power product features such as AI-assisted drafts and reports. These providers may process information for us under their own security and privacy commitments.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep account, billing, project, crawl, and integration data for as long as needed to provide Rookery and meet legal, security, and operational requirements. You may ask us to delete your account or disconnect an integration by contacting us.

MCP authorization records and tokens are retained only as needed to operate, secure, and revoke the connection. Removing Rookery from an assistant stops that client from using its saved connection, while server-side revocation invalidates outstanding Rookery sessions and connector tokens. Tool-created crawls, tasks, drafts, reports, and proposals remain part of your Rookery project until you delete the applicable data or account.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but we design Rookery to limit access to sensitive credentials and customer data.

Your Choices

You can choose not to connect optional integrations. You can disconnect Google Search Console from Rookery, revoke access from your Google Account, update account details, or request deletion by contacting us.

You can remove the Rookery connector in your AI assistant at any time. For server-side session revocation, connector removal instructions, and security reporting, see MCP Support and Security.
